Common Medication Dosages

Tylenol is appropriate to use in children down to 2 months of age.
Dosing Chart for Children 2 Months to 2 Years of Age: Infants' Tylenol is now the same concentration as Children's.

Infants/Children's Liquid Tylenol (160 mg/5 ml)

6 - 11 lbs 2 - 3 months 1.25 mL
12 - 17 lbs 4 - 11 months 1/2 tsp = 2.5 mL
18 - 23 lbs 12 - 23 months 3/4 tsp = 3.75 mL
24 - 35 lbs 2 - 3 years 1 tsp = 5 mL

Advil is appropriate for children down to 6 months of age. Dosing information is listed below.

Infants' Advil® Concentrated Drops:

under 6 mo not recommended
12 - 17 lbs 6 - 11 months 1.25 mL
18 - 23 lbs 12 - 23 months 1.875 mL

Children's Advil® Suspension:

under 24 lb under 2 years ask a doctor
24 - 35 lbs 2 - 3 years 1 tsp
36 - 47 lbs 4 - 5 years 1 1/2 tsp
48 - 59 lbs 6 - 8 years 2 tsp
